One Year on the Road

Alex is Public Outreach Coordinator at Sanibel/Captiva Conservation Federation.

She introduced us to a few friends of hers.

Kate has always liked snakes.

And this one liked her.

S/he completely wrapped around Kate&#039;s arm.

I&#039;m not a huge snake fan.

But this one was so silky soft!

Part of the open house was a nature sounds contest.

Kids of all ages came up to imitate animal noises.

This girl made a kitten sound.

This little one had to be coaxed by Dad.

Alex was coerced into making an owl hoot.

We visited the butterly garden.

Several butterflies were enjoying the warm day.

Kate also loves butterflies.

We also went on a nature hike.

Afterwards, we checked out a beach on Sanibel Island.

It was quite windy, so we didn&#039;t stay.

That night Alex and her husband, Ihasha, came out to our campground for dinner.

This was our first time meeting Ihasha, and we approved!

The next day, our old friend Val from Eugene came out for a visit.

We went on a short nature hike.

Val and I went on a bike ride.

We discovered this nice park.
