One Year on the Road

Rancho Oso RV Resort.

The parking area is tiered, so each spot has a view.

We got a spot with a big tree.

Our first road friend, Mary Quinn.

We took a walk around the place before dinner.

The resort has a large stable.

Fields full of horses.

Feeding time.

Tiny cabin rooms for rent.

A dinner feast: meatloaf, sweet potatoes, brocolli and corn.

The next day, on the way to pick Aly up, we stopped at Solvang.

Solvang is a Scandinavian village.

Kate used to come here as a child when she lived in Camarillo.

It&#039;s always been geared toward tourists.

But now even more so.

It was really busy on a warm Sunday afternoon.

Kate got a pastry she always loved as a child.

...at this bakery.

I prefer ableskivers.

They&#039;re like round doughnuts.

For those who want to dress the part.

Santa Barbara Airport is beautiful! And so quiet.

We told Bailey to watch for someone special.

Here at last!!!!

Bailey had a fit seeing her favorite girl again.

We were all so happy to see each other.

Bailey and her girl, Aly.

Aly and I went for a walk after dinner and found this old stone spring house.

It was built in 191 over a spring to store food in a cool place.

The roof collapsed, but the rest remains.

The bars are old Model T axels.

Stone path.

Stone lodge.

Trees in the late day light.

Many ground squirrels.

Chickens, too.

The next morning, Aly and I booked a trail ride.

Aly has always loved horses.

I got the palomino.

We were the only ones who signed up.

So we got a private ride with Alison.

It was a wonderful ride.

We had such a blast.
