One Year on the Road

We went on a walk after dinner and caught the tail end of this sunset.

Pink cotton candy cloud.

The harbor was quiet.

The lighthouse.

There was a field hockey rink in the park.

Gypsy stayed in the RV while we walked.

The next day, we left the fur kids behind and drove into Niagra Falls.

We took the scenic back road and stopped for fruit.

Funny to see Route 66 pump in Canada.

There were beautiful houses along the way.

The mist rises in a large cloud.

It&#039;s a very fancy Welcome Centre.

This is where the largest crowd gathers.

There are two sets of falls actually.

The Horseshoe Falls are the most spectacular.

They span both Canadian and American borders.

But the best view is from the Canadian side.

The American side is under construction.

I&#039;m glad we didn&#039;t chose that side!

The other falls are on the American side.

To view it from that side, you have to walk down to the bottom.

You could walk down on the Canadian side, too.

Boats from both sides take tourists into close up to the falls.

They all wear rain slickers.

Pounded with mist.

And then back to the sun.

The Americans wear blue slickers.

The Canadians wear red.

This was a great spot to see it.

We ate lunch at the restaurant in the Welcome Centre.

The crowds were almost as interesting as the falls.

This Amish family had eight kids, all dressed in purple.

It couldn&#039;t have been a more beautiful day.

One last shot before we headed back.

The fur kids were waiting patiently for us.

They&#039;d been cooped up all day, so we took them to the beach.

Bailey got to swim to her heart&#039;s content.

Gypsy explored the rocky shore.

Far across Lake Ontario is Toronto.

Gypsy loves exploring the outdoors.

Until something scares her.

Back home, Gypsy was very curious about Bailey&#039;s stick chewing.

A little later, she plopped down on the dog bed and starting chewing Bailey&#039;s stick.

I swear she thinks she&#039;s a dog.

Why wouldn&#039;t she, with a dog for a sister?

And two women as parents?

She&#039;s still drinking a bottle.

So satisfying.

Bailey&#039;s still a little put out by our adoption.

But she tolerates her.

Kate got out her sewing machine.

And her iron.

She finished her two quilts for Hospice.

A break for lunch.

Some cuddle time.

Paw washing.

I left Kate with wine and Gypsy and took Bailey to swim in the pond.

It&#039;s a stocked fishing pond, but good for ball fetching, too.

And her swim... a bath.

She&#039;s so good about it.

She keeps wanting to go back to her birthplace.

I went for one last bike ride around the park.

No dogs were allowed on the big sand beach.

Gypsy&#039;s favorite toy is a Kleenex box.

She can still squeeze herself in.

I don&#039;t know how long that will last.
