One Year on the Road

Our first Yellowstone stop was Old Faithful.

We brought Gypsy and Bailey with us.

Pets weren&#039;t allowed in the viewing area.

But we could hang out behind the crowd.

This was a much more fun place anyway.

The kids could play...

Gypsy hid in her carry bag when she got tired.

Finally the geyser started to erupt.

Spray catches the sun.

This was Kate&#039;s view.

Gypsy and Bailey got more attention than the geyser did.

We got a campsite in Madison Campground.

After dinner we took a drive to Firehole Falls.

Lots of water this time of year.

Then we walked around Fountain Paintpot.

This is called the &quot;bobby socks&quot; effect on the trees.

The water looked as inviting as a spa.

Clear enough to drink!

But not this bubbling mud.

Watching a geyser.

It was very loud.

The next day we started with Gibbon Falls.

A roar of water.

Not your typical tourists.

Enjoying the view and walk.

When we&#039;d seen this years ago, there was half the water.

Back at the campground, we were walking the pets...

... and happened upon this guy.

Gypsy wanted away from it.

We took the fur kids on an evening drive.

That same bison trio was still plodding down the road.

We pulled over to let them pass.

Gypsy was stymied.

For once, she didn&#039;t try to stalk the creature.
