We spent one day exploring downtown DC and another day at the zoo.

Another near-empty campground.

Right off we met the camp host and Andrea.

Andrea's just started a solo adventure of her own.

We took the subway to downtown D.C.

It was a beautiful warm day.

Lots of people out walking, but not crowded at all.

I never conceptualized how long that wall of names was.

Wherever you are downtown, seems like you can always see the Washington Monument.

This statue was a present from Armenia in gratitude for earthquake assistance in 1988.

I don't know what this impressive building is.

We walked to view the White House.

These brutal railings would give any fence jumper pause.

We walked by this Civil War memorial.

And topless woman with naked children, of course.

This beautiful old post office building...

...is soon to be Trump Hotel.

We had a nice lunch at a sidewalk cafe.

We went to the National Museum of American History.

Kate doubted that George Washington posed for this.
