One Year on the Road

We drove over miles of country roads like this.

Bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush were predominant.

In Fredericksburg, we went to the Pioneer Museum.

This is a one-room &quot;Sunday house&quot; used by country families who come into town for a day or more.

We ate in the courtyard.

We went for a walk on the Ladybird Nature Trail.

And cardinals.

We stopped again at downtown Fredericksburg.

This is such a thriving tourist place.

Many fun shops.

Interesting art in shops.

Pioneer mannequin becomes shoppers.

Oh, how I used to love these. They were a nickel then.

Next, a quick stop at Enchanted Rock.

This place is so popular.

Most people tackle the hike to the top.

It offers a great view all around.

We opted for the lower loop.

It was a great, quick trail.

Bluebonnets and cacti.

We stopped for more flower photos on the way home.

The mix of colors was just amazing.

This batch had at least six different types of wildflowers.

It&#039;s just breathtaking to drive through the countryside with roads lined with flowers.

And the field of yellow flowers was a bonus.

We sure hit Hill Country at the right time!

Back at our little campground.

Actually, all it had was a toilet behind a curtain.

And a pen full of pigs.

Bailey and Gypsy weren&#039;t sure what to make of the pigs.

Gypsy just stared and stared at them.

Lots of little ones.

Speaking of little ones, these guys attached themselves to us.

Pesky, but awfully cute.
