We tried three different roads between Port Arena and Cloverdale…

Wild iris in the grass.

It was designed by San Diego artist, James Hubbel.

Teak doors with stained glass...

It was built in 1985.

It is open for all denominations to enjoy moments of reflection.

The designer also designed and crafted the windows...

...and the chandelier.

Jewel-studded doorknob on the inside.

And copper accents.

At milepost 55, there is a chapel, built by two Sea Ranch residents for the public.

Miles and miles of weathered wood fence line Highway 1.

These fances are Mendocino standard.

Barn with a view. Lucky beast!

We watched a group of whales frolicking in the same spot for a long time.

Kelly spotted whales and pulled over.

Cows on a grassy cliff.

Fort Ross, originally built in the 1800s by Russian colonists.

Cows on hills.

They clearly own the place.

Neverending windiness.

I have traveled this territory a good bit over the years, but have never seen the chapel. It is uniquely beautiful! Thanks for talking such lovely pics!
